Our Faith Community Nurses and Health Ministers, work alongside the these partners to support older adults and families residing in the community.
Health Ministries Network volunteers provide blood pressure checks, health counsel, referral, A1C screenings, as well as limited health screenings.
The “Ask a Nurse” program is augmented by community partners, to include the Whatcom Family YMCA, Mt. Baker Foundation, NAMI of Whatcom County, and Dementia Support Northwest.
Health Ministries Network also contributes to the East Whatcom Health Reporter by providing news articles and links to resources that correspond to the East Whatcom Health Services Fair themes and upcoming “Ask a Nurse” programing.
Throughout the program, HMN encourages community members to learn more about and participate in our annual Foundations Course, a faith community nurse(FCN)/health minister (HM) volunteer training available to those who wish to serve from within their faith community or geographic area.
