About the Event
This intensive 3-hr workshop inspires and empowers participants to grow and engage in activities that: - Honor human diversity - Promote cultural self-awareness and understanding - Engage in cross-cultural learning activities to gain in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of ethnic and cultural groups - Examine historical and institutional power of the “isms” - racism, sexism, classism, etc. Instructors: Masa DeLara, Heather Jefferson, and Julie Mauermann
In partnership with the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, the Whatcom Community Foundation has generously agreed to sponsor the 3-hour REACH workshop: Exploring Equity and Cultural Humility, Thursday July 9th from 1-4pm. This sponsorship covers the costs for 50 individuals to take part in this virtual workshop.
Individual registration for this course is typically $75+ per person and we are grateful that this sponsorship helps make this powerful learning experience accessible to community members regardless of their ability to pay.
If you are unable to attend on July 9th, know that we intend to share further opportunities to participate in this workshop (both paid and sponsored). If you are able to join us on July 9th, you are most welcome. Please also consider sharing this opportunity with others who may be interested and would benefit from the sponsorship. We will look forward to seeing you next week or in another future session. Register in advance for this meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAufuCrqz4qHtN74pZcl8SvD4SqYrCBsXuS
